Bank Holiday Mega Family Fun Day

Summer fun for all ages! Enjoy the fab summer weather of South Wales by visiting the Mega Family Fun day in Ynysangharad park, where you can enjoy a great family day out. See the sights and visit the trade stands, so see what the fair has to offer. This is truly the place to be on Bank holiday Monday. Have a go at one of our children’s activities, which we will be running all day at our stand. Have a go at making a bird feeder or dragonfly that you can take home with you. Discover new ways of attracting our feathered friends to your gardens, the fantastic opportunities we have for children and families to get your children interested in wildlife. The summer fair is an event for the whole community, so bring all of the family along, for a great day out and see the RSPB!


The event is on Monday 27 August with free entry to fair.

Its suitable for all of the family so come along and have fun!

New Horizons Open day

New Horizons Open day held on 16th August was a great success. The centre was full to the brim with service users, guest speakers and partner organisations.

Boyd Clack our patron gave an excellent speech in support of New Horizons, followe

d by a speech from Christine Chapman AM, The Mayor of RCT - Mayor Cllr Doug Williams, Dr Paul Davies - Assistant Director of Operations for Mental Health and CAMHS - Cwm Taf Health Board and Theresa Campbell - President of the Soroptomist Internation(Aberdare District).

After the speeches Boyd Clack cut the cake and officially opened the centre. Everyone enjoyed themselves and after tea and coffee were treated to a set from the music group.

Animal Zone

Come along and Interact with some of the world's most fascinating creatures, an entertaining experience whilst raising awareness to the special needs of some of the exotic animals. Takes place on Saturday 14 July at Ynysangharad War Memorial Park Pontypridd.  A must for all the family, a good day out for all ages.

Are you a strategic thinker who is committed to improving the lives of people experiencing mental health problems in RCT?
New Horizons manages mental health resource centres across RCT that provide a range of services to assist people along their mental health recovery journey.   The range of services on offer includes; 1:1 professional support, peer support, volunteering opportunities, training courses & social activities.


If you are looking for an opportunity to contribute to the community then why not join our Board of trustees? Your initial commitment must be for one evening per month.  We particularly welcome applicants with an interest in mental health issues as well as skills in fundraising, HR, financial management and/or legal rights.
Applicants will work  with fellow Board members  and the Director to shape our vision and direction, developmenting and promoting  our  support services to  people living with mental health issues across RCT.
